Looking Down the Barrel of A Rifle Named Eve
By: Abby C., 13, VA (aka noonootomboy)

About the Author: Abby was born in New York City. She lived in Brooklyn until the start of third grade when her family moved to Virginia. Abby has been a story teller and writer since she could first talk. She reads all the time, enjoys drawing, playing the clarinet, and swimming (in addition to writing). After more than 5 years in Virginia, Abby still calls herself a New Yorker.

My Favorite Book of All Time Is…. A Tree Grows in Brooklyn

I like to write because… I love writing because it relaxes me. I can put my feelings down on paper, and get so into it I forget where I am. Writing is a key ingredient to my life – particularly when it's fiction.

Excerpt from her story...
For weeks after that, the CGs followed me. The participants switched around, but one girl was always there—Eve Thipault, their leader.

My grades slipped. My parents asked me what was wrong, but I couldn't tell them. I had already envisioned what would happen if they called the principal and the girls found out I had told. Life would be a zillion times worse. So I kept quiet.

However, my older sister Sirit had noticed the strange expressions on my face every day when I got home, as I crumpled the nasty notes I'd received. One day in November she pulled me into our shared room, shut the door, and sat me on her bed.

"Elenny, what's wrong?" Her face looked so serious, so caring.
