My Favorite Book of All Time Is…. Petey, by Betty Cavanna
I like to write because… The author loves to write stories mostly because she believes that writing is a way to live through someone else by the use of imagination.
Excerpt from her story...
"Aha! Whizzer idea coming on, sweetums!" said Dad. I hate Dad's whizzer ideas. "You can sit beside Mr. Wigby and we'll take a picture!" Mr. Wigby, hearing us, tried to conceal an evil smirk.
"You brought a camera?!" I asked. "I don't want to relive this day ever!"
"Of course we did! Now get your patoot up there so we can take your pic!"
Pic? UGH!!! I climbed into the Pit of Doom and sat awkwardly next to the principal. Ugh-er. Dad aimed the camera while Mom chucked balls at the Red Circle of Death…
