Soccer Dream
written by: starsinger, 15,

Yes! My last goal of the season! My dream is to become a professional soccer player. This was the third year I have been playing and I am really good. My parents say I am going to be the next Mia Hamm who just happens to be my favorite soccer player. We were about to go home when some guy walked up to me. "Hi. I am the head coach of the U.S. woman´s soccer team. Me and a few other spectators saw you play and we think we are really good. You should consider joining the team." "Wow," I exclaimed. "I haven´t heard about you talking to somebody about joining the team since you got 14 year old Freddie Adu to be the youngest soccer player in the world." "That´s just it," he explained. "We think you are just as good and we want you to be the youngest soccer player in the world." The world went black and I fainted. I woke up the next day and I saw that I wasn´t in my house. I was in a locker room! I saw Mia Hamm and... wait... MIA HAMM?! "Mia, is that really you?" I looked around and I saw other women. Wait... these were the people from Mia´s team! "Yes, it´s me," Mia laughed. "We´re about to play a game, you ready?" I looked down and I saw that I was in a soccer uniform and cleats. "You guys are so much older than me. Wait, I joined the team?" "Yes," said Mia. I smiled and went out to play. 20 years later I was looking at a magazine with a picture of me and Mia on it. I hadn´t retired yet. I was going to play for many more years. I had become the youngest soccer player that day at the end of my third season game. My parents were right! I was just reading an article the said, "Could the youngest soccer player in the world be the next Mia Hamm? Look at the results to find out." They had put a graph on the page and asked people to vote. I looked at it. No-500 Yes-500,000 And that is how my soccer dream came true. THE END
