HOW TO MAKE A CARAMEL COATED APPLE
By: Mackenzie, 10, IL (aka missmack)

Ever wanted caramel apples but had no time? Here is a quick recipe.

You need:
1 or 2 bags of caramel
Large pan w/ handle
Stove
5-7 fresh apples
Popsicle sticks 5-7 of them
Nuts (not needed just for extra flavor)

Here’s how to make CARAMEL APPLES:

  1. Pour one bag of caramels at a time into large pan w/ handle
  2. Put pan on stove at HIGH until it is melted and creamy
  3. Turn off stove
  4. Clean apples with warm water (to make sure they are not dirty) while caramel is cooling OFF STOVE
  5. Pour nuts in a skillet or shallow pan (to get into easily)
  6. Stick the popsicle sticks into the apple
  7. Grab end of stick (this is where the skill comes in!) Dip the whole apple (not stick!) into the caramel keep dipping until there is a full thick layer of caramel (It’s hard not to drop the apple in the pan!)
  8. After all the apples are filled with caramel, go to the shallow pan and roll the top of the apples in nuts until there is a satisfying layer of nuts on the apples
  9. Put each apple into its own plastic-sealed baggy then in the fridge for about 2 minutes.
  10. Take the apples out of the bags and put onto a large platter and serve!

Hope you enjoyed my family recipe. It’s a very important recipe for my family! Yum!
