Did you know that it´s often a good idea to parent each of your children differently?
You are an individual and so are your children. Each of you comes to the table with a range of individual characteristics that reflect temperament, personality, preferences, aversions, etc. While you might be able to give a list of directives to your easygoing child who does not mind stopping an activity midstream, your less patient child whose intensely engages in every activity she starts might need a little warning and/or a sense that she has some flexibility in the situation ("Susie, would you like to take the garbage out now or do you want to wait until after you´re done checking your e-mail.?") So forget about treating everyone the same and focus more on treating your children as the individuals they are.
