O Scoop, this is big news! Read all about
school!! I know, school probably bores you.
But not anymore! School is a big part of
your life... and not just the education.
In school, sure you learn about history, and
math, but you also learn about life. Where
would you find friends? And at school, you
can learn about fighting with friends. You
meet friends, and make friends. But
sometimes part of being a friend is
fighting. Through that, you learn how to
solve problems dealing with people, and
things like that will help you get through
life much easier.
So will bullying. For instance, you can
learn how to deal with bullies, and not to
just be a bystander, and do something about
it. Or you can learn that being a bully just
isn't great-and that usually bullies are
only bullies because they feel insecure.
Same thing with being snobby and
popular-those are mostly kids that are
insecure, and don't know what else to do.
Also, if you have a fave thing to do, or if
you know what you want to be when you grow
up, obviously school will help you. If you
want to become a teacher, everything can
help. A scientist? Science. An actress?
Drama. A sports hit? PE. Everything in
school can help you, even the education.
If YOU feel insecure, you know what you
should do? Then you shouldn't become a
bully, or snobby, which are practically the
same…you should try to make friends. On the
first day, scope out people that look like
you'll like them and they'll like you. Then
try to make about five friends, and then a
best friend. Or you could get a few best
buds and make a club.
Speaking of clubs, let's talk about
extracurricular activities. You can join any
after school club, or you can get involved
with getting a tutor if you need one, or
taking piano lessons or something.
Feeling bad about skipping or getting held
back? Look, I skipped second grade, and so
far I haven't had any trouble with it.
(Except for when I applied for a school and
they said I was too young.)
I know all about this stuff. Like I said, I
skipped a grade. If you have trouble being
nerdy because of braces or glasses, then
listen to me. Look, I have glasses. And you
never ask for un-straight teeth or bad
eyesight, right? So, it doesn't make you
nerdy at all! And I take cello lessons over
the weekend. Extracurricular. I have a best
best friend and a few okay friends. And I
have DEFINITELY learned a thing or two about
life from school.
A special note of those going into the 6th
grade: I am too. Don't let it bring you
down-it's gonna be a great adventure!! |
