SUN SMARTS: How to Protect Your Skin
Your mom has probably already told you how important it is to slab on sunblock before going outside, and, as usual, she's right. But with so many to choose from how are you supposed to know which way to go?
- When choosing your sunscreen, make sure it has an SPF of at least 15 and no more than 30.
- Make sure you buy sunscreen that's waterproof and protects against both UVA and UVB rays.
- It's best to apply the lotion 30 minutes before going outside so your skin can absorb it.
- Rub it all over your exposed skinface, arms, legs, shoulders, etc. every three or four hours.
(Pssst. Contrary to popular belief, lying in the sun does NOT dry up zits. It does just the opposite the sun can actually make your problem skin worse! Yikes!)
Remember these tips and you'll feel as radiant as the sun, rather than red as a tomato, all summer long!
