OH, SAVE ME FROM THE FRIENDSHIP DRAMA!
One of the most rewarding things in life is
having friendships. But the road to friendship
isn’t always smooth, and sometimes the road
you’re on might turn out to be the wrong one.
Here, Miss O Club members CheerChick2007,
cutieyas94 and sportychic101 impart their advice
on one of the greatest gifts you can give
somebody…your friendship.
A True Blue Friend By: Tory, 12, NC (aka sportychic101)
Everyone thinks that they have the best friend
ever...or do they? Some people conceal how bad their
friend treats them just so they can be popular or
actually have a friend. But really, they aren’t your
friend. Sadly, I was one of those people who knew
their "friend" was treating them wrong and still
tried to become part of their possy. She would boss
me around, tell me what to wear and criticize what I
looked like. If my hair was just cut she wouldn’t
stop saying how horrible it looked for days. If I
wore green when she wanted me to wear red, she
wouldn’t hang out with me for a while. I really
wanted a friend, so I kept her until middle school
parted us. Then, at my new school, I found real
friends that liked me for who I was, not who they
wanted me to be. But the truth is, I waited too long
to get rid of my rotten friend. I should’ve told her
that I didn’t want to be friends with her straight
away... If you have a friend problem exactly or
similar to this, take this advice: If they’re mean
to you, tell them how you feel. I know that you’ve
probably heard that a thousand times, but it works.
And if you’re too afraid to approach them, just
start to show your individuality and that you can
make better friends. So before you know it, you’ll
have a true blue friend. |
