OH, SAVE ME FROM THE FRIENDSHIP DRAMA!
One of the most rewarding things in life is
having friendships. But the road to friendship
isn’t always smooth, and sometimes the road
you’re on might turn out to be the wrong one.
Here, Miss O Club members CheerChick2007,
cutieyas94 and sportychic101 impart their advice
on one of the greatest gifts you can give
somebody…your friendship.
Do You.......?
By: Jessica, 11, KY (aka CheerChick2007)
Do you have this one friend that always is
talking about nothing but herself? Is it time to let
her know how you feel? I think so! Many girls will
always have this one friend in life that is self
centered. Don’t you just hate that? Well, I’m here
to help. Read the following situation and I’ll help
you fix that problem in your life.
Rebecca is having a really hard day at school.
She just wanted to talk to someone about it. So she
went to her friend, Jill.
‘Jill,’ Rebecca said. ‘May I talk to you for a
second? I really have had a bad day and no one seems
to understand. First, I,’ Jill cut Rebecca off by
saying, ‘I hate when I have bad days. It just makes
me feel lousy for the rest of the week.’ Jill kept
talking and talking about nothing but herself.
Rebecca couldn’t get a word in. So, she walked away
and let it go. This made Rebecca’s day even worse.
Does this sound like something that has happened
to you before? Well, maybe it’s time to tell that
person how you feel about what they do to you. Just
sit down with them and tell them that it makes you
feel [bad, sad, etc.] when you are trying to tell
her how you feel and she talks about herself
instead, when you really just need her to listen.
Of course, some people may get mad at you. Why?
That’s just how some people are these days. But, if
the person is a really good friend, they will
understand and try to quit doing it. Maybe before
you talk to them, think about how they feel about
you. Let them have a chance to say what’s on their
minds. Maybe you both just have secrets about each
other that you have been holding in for quite some
time now because you’re scared of what the other one
will think or if it will ruin your friendship. Truth
is, it’s good to get the truth out.
I really hoped that I may have helped you in some
way. |
