The End!
May 21, 2008

Hmm... where do I begin? I actually preferred last year's finale, but this year's wasn't that bad. I have to say my first actual smile came when I saw Chikezie's smiling face when the Top 6 men contestant's performed 'Summer of '69'! He just makes me smile! I also loved Michael Johns' and Carly Smithson's duet. Jordin Sparks did a GREAT job with her current single and I wasn't a huge fan of Carrie Underwood's song. My favorite performance actually goes to David Archuleta with One Republic doing 'Apologize.' That song is one of my favorites and Archuleta really did a great job with it, which surprised me given the tempo and urban vibe of the song. I also loved the George Michael medley the Top 12 did.
I was glad to hear the results were close, 97 Million votes with 44% to one David and 56% to the other. That gave me some initial hope that Mr. Cook had managed to pull it off. And I'm so excited he did. I cheered out loud as if my favorite team had just won a championship. I don't think I've ever cared this much about a contestant winning and I don't think it's ever been this close. I'm so happy for David Cook and I can't wait to pick up his album when it comes out.
Oh, and I LOVED the David Cook 'Guitar Hero' ad, he looked great, the Archuleta one was goofy to me.
I really enjoyed this season of 'Idol' what do you think? Do you think David Cook will have a good career? Do you think he's going to outsell other 'Idol' Alumni? Who do you think should have won, who did you WANT to win? TELL ME! TELL ME! Have you seen the 'American Idol' Top 12 Contestants Gallery that we put up? What are you waiting for, check it out! We also got some great quotes from each of the David's about their 'Idol' experiences, read them here.
