GETTING TO KNOW: LINDSAY LOHAN

Lindsay Lohan in
Herbie: Fully Loaded
In the movie Herbie: Fully Loaded, Lindsay Lohan plays a race car driver determined to continue her family's NASCAR legacy. In real life, the 18-year-old actress's career is in overdrive. Super turbo overdrive.

No joke. The former redhead, whose life (or a version thereof) is played out every week in the tabloids, has several upcoming roles on her plate (at a reported $7.5 million payday per) and a thriving music career – her debut record Speak was certified platinum. See? Overdrive.

TEEN shares with us their interview with Hollywood's "It Girl du Jour" as they chatted about her latest flick and the ups and downs of living one's life in the public eye.

You recently won an MTV Movie Award for your role in "Mean Girls." How'd you celebrate?
I threw a little gathering—it was like 100 people—at The Standard. (An L.A. hotspot.) We had really cool people come. Chris Rock was there and Quentin Tarantino – most of the people from the show I was the host of the party so it was kind of stressful. I was running around all night trying to make everyone feel comfortable.

How nuts has the last year been for you?
I feel like people might assume or think something different because of what they read and what the tabloids say, for me it's been a really big learning experience. I feel like I've grown a lot as a person and just in terms of my acting [the] roles that I want to choose now, and what I'm aware of and what I know to do and not do. [This] last year was when they (the tabloids) started saying things. That was the year I would have been in college for my first year so I kind of experienced going out all the time and hanging out with these people and never really going to clubs and then learning about it through that year. And then I got over it really fast but they continue to say I still do it. So there's really nothing I can do at this point. I just really don't want people to think I'm not focused and that I'm not in this for the right reasons.

Do you want to go to college?
I always wanted to go to college and I wanted to study entertainment law. But I'm in a position right now where I feel like, this is what I want to do, so to put this aside to start something new could be a lot right now.

Think you'll ever go?
I wouldn't cancel it out. But first I want to get in to producing and I want to start my own charity for children. There's a lot of things I want to do but I have to take the time to do it. First I have to get my wisdom teeth pulled!

Herbie: Fully Loaded is your third remake for Disney, do you feel like you have a special relationship with them now?
Disney gave me my opportunity to follow what I wanted to do in life. I owe alot to them and they've been really good to me, so I felt [safe] coming into another remake with them. It's always nerve racking because you never know what the older generation that saw the movie originally is going to think. You want to live up to the expectations that they'll have of the new one. I trust Disney in the sense that they keep the important elements from the original movie and then they just update it to how the times are now which is great. They keep it young and fun for kids and they make it appealing to all ages.
