TRAVEL REVIEW: YOSEMITE NATIONAL PARK
This week on BEEN THERE, we hear from 12 year-old Molly from North Carolina who tells us all about her awesome trip to Yosemite National Park!
Last summer I went to Yosemite National Park, in California. It was lots of fun. We went rafting down the Merced river and rode bikes along designated paths all over the park. We slept in platform tents and had to keep our food in lockers because otherwise the bears would come and eat it. There are many great sites to see in Yosemite, including Half Dome and El Capitan mountains. We saw people climbing them. They were brave!
My favorite part of our trip was rafting. The water was so cold! It had come from snowmelt! Sometimes the river would get deep and sometimes it was shallow enough to see the rocks on the bottom. I found many neat rocks there, including one that was shaped just like a baseball. The Merced river was very gentle. We just drifted along and didn't really have to paddle at all. Going to Yosemite was a great experience. I had the best vacation ever there!
