New Mexico By: Laney, 11, NM (aka Clarissa136)
New
Mexico has so many vacation spots. One of them is
Carlsbad. It’s a very small town with not much to do
but you can go to the Carlsbad Caverns. I have been
there and I love it. What it is, is gigantic caves
that were formed millions of years ago all by water
and time. If you go at a certain time of the year
you can see bats. It’s an amazing experience that
you will never forget. Another great spot in New
Mexico is Ruidoso. Mountains are all around you and
in the winter you can go skiing. If you love
shopping there are tons of neat little stores you
can go to. There also are forests if you like to
camp! There is that and much more in New Mexico.
It’s nothing like Disneyland, but I guarantee some
great family fun!
Washington, D.C. By: Natalia, 9, MA (aka rosemist11)
You have GOT to visit Washington, D.C.
They have EVERYTHING there. Here are some must-sees
on your trip:
- Washington Monument. It is so cool, and you
get a great view of the city.
- Capitol Building. Come see where your
country’s laws are made.
- Smithsonian Air and Space Museum. This is
the best of them all. They have everything, from
a moon rock to Amelia Earhart’s Plane.
- Mall. Pack a picnic, and see the gorgeous
cherry blossoms.
- FDR Memorial. Very outdoorsy, with lots of
trees and plants.
- Lincoln Memorial. I think you know about
this one. Really cool.
- Jefferson Memorial. I like this one. Lots of
quotes on the walls.
- WWII Memorial. This one is meaningful to me
because my grandfather fought in this war. It is
very beautiful.
- THE WHITE HOUSE. That was cool, but you’re
not allowed upstairs. I still like it though.
These are just a few things you can do in
Washington, D.C. You really should go there! |
