HOLIDAY- DISNEYLAND (PARIS)
By: Yewi Marquis, 13, (aka Yewi)

A holiday is a time of rest within a given period.
Most people love going on holidays outside their
countries because they gain more knowledge about
other people’s countries. People also travel to have
fun and rest. One holiday I know I will never forget
is the holiday I spent in Disneyland - Paris. I went
on a tour and I really enjoyed myself. We lodged in
a hotel called Hotel New York. When we went into the
real Disneyland itself, I was overwhelmed, it was so
beautiful and I couldn’t wait to see the inside
because it was bound by big black gates.
We went on lots of rides like the Space Mountain
(you have to be a certain age and height to go on it
because the ride will turn upside down), Aladdin’s
lamp, Car ride, Helicopter ride and Train ride.
There is a place called Alice in Wonderland where
the background is decorated like a real Alice in
Wonderland background with the same life sized
characters. There is also a Disneyland Museum and a
lovely ride in which you are on something like a
boat on water and you are surrounded by a colorful
background with different countries in each section
with the king and queen of the country at the end of
the country’s section. There was another train ride
called studio train tour where they show you the
behind the scenes of action film tricks and how they
are shot.
A RIDE REVIEW: PARAMOUNT'S KING'S DOMINION
By: Amanda, 10, (aka bookworm34)
If you are taking a trip to Virginia soon you’ve
got to stop by Paramount’s King’s Dominion. It has
rides for young and old and everyone in between. If
you go, here are some 5 star rides:
- The Space Surfer. A ride that takes you high
in the air for a relaxing ride. Pluses: You can
see around the park. If it’s a hot day you get a
breeze. It’s fun! Minuses: If you can’t stand
heights over 15 feet you won’t like this ride.
If you get dizzy easily it won’t work for you.
- Scooby Doo’s Ghoster Coaster. A coaster for
kids about 7 and up, who don’t want to go on the
big coasters, but are too old for the little
rides. Pluses: It’s a fun ride that gets the
kids screaming, but it isn’t that wild. Minuses:
For older adults it may hurt your back a tad if
you ride with your kid.
- Touche Turtle’s Clipper. A ride that is
based on those boats that rock back and forth,
but for little kids. Pluses: Kids get to go on
the same ride as adults, just turned down a
notch. Minuses: There really aren’t any. This
ride is perfect for young kids.
