LOTSA LOBSTER IN MAINE —
By: Lauren, 11, CA (aka CrazyFrogGirl22)

Every summer we take a One-Month family vacation.
Last summer we went to the east-coast. My favorite
places were New York, Washington D.C., but, most of
all, Maine! Yes, Maine is known for its Lobster!
And, boy, is it the best! But, some things are good
and some are bad. But, mostly good!
For one, stepping into the Atlantic Ocean was
very nice. Since I’m a California Girl, I never
touched the icy waters of that ocean. It was very
cold, but refreshing.
Second, you have to have lobster! You can
basically find it at any restaurant in town.
Breakfast, lunch, or dinner! I had lobster at this
really cool place that was right over the ocean.
But, here is where the bad comes in. The waitress
didn’t know right from left, meaning, she didn’t ask
the right questions, she didn’t know what was on the
menu, and she didn’t know how to serve. But,
anyways. Before our lobster came, my sister, my
cousin, and I would walk out and stand on the
balcony standing over the ocean. It was very foggy
and windy, but juuuust perfect. We also found this
mini-carnival and that is where I rode my first
roller-coaster. It was very fun.
We found this place called Bailey’s Lobster
Pound. They had live lobsters, packaged lobster,
lobster tails, lobster-meat balls, and interesting
facts. Like this one: If you open a cooked lobster,
you will find this green substance that will remind
you of...(well, you probably don’t want to
know)...anyway, it is actually a delicacy that
people from Maine love! Who knew?
What I liked most about Maine was that it was
foggy and windy. But, if you don’t like that kind of
weather, tough cookies. I loved Maine and hope to
travel back there in the future!
