Trash or Treasure? Definitely treasure!
By: leyla, 13, FL (aka pixel_chk)
Treasure Island, Florida is just below Tampa/St. Petersburg. It’s a charming little island, with lots of fun things to do. And girls, tons of shopping! There’s John’s Pass boardwalk, with lots of fun little beach shops. Same goes for Treasure Island beach, yes, it is a beach, but after you get tired of sun and surf walk across the street and go shopping (in your cute new bikini, of course!) The beaches are phenomenal! if you can get hold of a boat you can go to Shell Island with many forms of local wildlife, like sea urchins, sand dollars, birds, and crabs. Fort Desoto is another, smaller island about 10 miles away. Great beaches, an old fort, and a gift shop. What more could you want? It’s also fun to look at all the cute little beach hotels on the drive there. The only drawback is that it’s a 2-day drive from where I am, or a 2-hour flight. But I think it is well worth it!

Tallahassee is the place to Be!
By: Lindsay, 13, FL (aka rougepixie13)
Hey everyone! If your family is going to go on vacation soon please consider coming to Tallahassee, FL. We may not have Disney World, but we have a ton of other cool stuff to do! If you’re into history, science, or nature we have some great museums you can visit. Like the Mary Brogan Museum of Art and Science. It has some great exhibits of art and science and a cool place with some fun and educational stuff for kids. We are about 20-30 minutes away from Wakulla Springs. The waters are cold, but it’s still a fun place to swim and go on Riverboat of Glassbottom Boat Tours. We are also the capital of Florida and you can visit both the old and new capital buildings. Downtown, on some Saturdays, we have a "market" where assorted artists come to present and sell their work. There is always something that catches my eye. With great restaurants such as Andrews, Nicholson Farm House, and Chez Pierre Tallahassee is a great family place. Hope you come and visit!

Marco Island, GO THERE!!
By: Kayli, 11, WI (aka FictionWriter81)

When you say the word "Florida" people think of Walt Disney World, SeaWorld, Universal Studios, Tampa, and Orlando. But what people don’t usually think about is Marco Island when you say the word "Florida". And they should because it is probably one of coolest places you’ll ever go!! That is if you visit!!

When I went to Marco Island we stayed at the Radisson Hotel and Resorts it was so beautiful!! It was right on the ocean and they had an awesome court yard!! They had this kid/teen area where you could go to if the parents wanted to have some time to themselves like you could take acting or dance classes. I didn’t do that but I did get my hair braided there it was so cool and the people were all so, so nice!! So I would definitely stay there if you went. Or I would stay at the Hilton which is next door to the Radisson.

We went to a lot of good restaurants. There were a ton of little seafood restaurants and outdoor barbeques along the sides of the roads. I really liked this one place I went to I wish I could remember the name!! Ack!! There is a TON of stuff to do to. You can swim in the ocean, swim in the pool, shop, go see estates, hang out by the ocean and the pool. Or you can just relax!! Well hope to see ya there!!
