This week on BEEN THERE, we hear from 12-year-old Rosie from Connecticut (aka lilrosiechick7) who tells us about trip around Europe!

Last summer my family traveled all around Europe! We went to the UK, France, Spain, and Italy! It was so much fun.

Since my whole family is from Spain, we stayed in my Grandparents' apartment while we were there. In the UK, we stayed with our cousins; Katherine and David and their kids: 9-year-old Alice and 4-year-old Jack. They are so cute! In Italy and Germany, we stayed in hotels.

Our first stop was England where we went on the Millennium Wheel and went shopping in London. The next day we visited the Queen's jewels and cool monuments! The last day, we took a day trip to France on the train. We visited Paris and the Eiffel tower and got amazing pastries at a local bakery. We also visited the Louvre, an art museum which contains the Mona Lisa!

We left London for Spain. We drove to Pego Alicante, a very small town in eastern Spain. We were there during Easter, which is like a HUGE holiday there. We got chocolate chickens and bread filled with sugary hard candy inside. Food in Spain was basically seafood, since we were staying right next to the ocean. Things like fish, clams, octopus, and lobster. I tried octopus tentacles. They were interesting. Also, I learned that during Easter, you crack confetti filled eggshells on people's heads if you like them. The polite way is to crack it in your hand and sprinkle it on their head – though, some people just hit them directly on to people's heads and someone actually just threw one at me!

Next up was Italy. We stayed in a hotel and visited all the amazing sites and statues. We went to a lot of museums there too! We saw the leaning tower of Pisa and had the best spaghetti in Roma! The culture there was very cool. Then, we left for home. My trip around Europe was totally awesome! I loved every minute of it and even though I was craving my bed at home.
