CHICAGO: THE WINDY CITY
This week on BEEN THERE, 12-year-old Macy from Kentucky tells us about her trip to Chicago, IL (USA).
This past weekend, my family and I went to Chicago, IL. This is the best place I have gone in a while. The shopping, food, museums and theatres were the best. The food was amazing. I had Italian, Mexican, pizza, and steak house while I was there. I went to this steakhouse, which was amazingly good. It was like heaven, with filet mignon and béarnaise. It wasn't too expensive either.
The pizza was the best in America. It was the fattest and tallest pizza I had ever seen, even though it was only an eleven-inch. The Mexican place, Chipotle, was also very good. We got to try all the dips, which were especially good.
The shopping was fun too. Nordstrom's, Louis Vuitton, Tiffany & Co., Prada, Gucci, a 4-story Old navy, you name it they have it.
We went to the Museum of Science and Industry, which was totally amazing. I got to see an actual baby chick being hatched out of its egg. It was cool!! There was also a toy assembly line.
As for the theatre, we never got our wish of seeing Wicked (if you want to read a review of the NY Broadway show, CLICK HERE. It was sold out the whole time we were there. So if you go, see that one! It is about all that happened before the Wizard of Oz (the movie) happened. I think it would be great fun.
A great hotel to stay at is either The Hard Rock Hotel or Hotel Monaco. If you go to Hotel Monaco, which is where we stayed, get the party like a rockstar suite. Although it isn't that big, it has a tub bigger then my room and a music player that is free. It has many song choices that are nice and loud. You can also play the electric guitar. Famous people such as Britney Spears and Aerosmith have stayed in the suite. We also walked to the Millennium Park. It was great. I would recommend you go in the summer to Chicago, because it isn't as cold and the fountains are running in Millennium Park. Well, take my advice, order your plane ticket and go to The Windy City, Chicago!
