CALIFORNIA

When I was about 7 years old, my family and I
went to San Diego, CA. While there we went to
San Diego Wild Animal Park, San Diego Zoo, Sea
World, and Disney Land.
At the San Diego Zoo, we took
a tour on a small open bus (I don’t know how to
describe it). If we wouldn’t have taken the bus, we
wouldn’t have been able to see the whole park in one
day. We saw, among many things, the polar bear,
lions, penguins, wild dogs, and giraffes. The polar
bear was swimming, the lions were lying around and
sleeping in the cave, the penguins were waddling
around, the wild dogs were talking, and the giraffes
were eating and they were so close to us. Since I
was on top of the bus (there were seats on top), I
felt I could touch them. Later, we saw many animals
in cages, aquariums, or cases. For example, we went
into a bird "cage" where birds were running free
everywhere. We could see all kinds of brilliant,
vivid, colorful birds. We even got to see a couple
birds not even a foot away feeding. I remember
thinking that it was the most spectacular thing I
had ever seen. Then, later we went to a fish
aquarium. It was a long dark passage where we would
pass all kinds of unique animals I’d never seen
before. There were especially a lot of different
jellyfish. Then the coolest thing was that they had
the largest crab. I’m telling you IT WAS HUMONGOUS!
Anyway, later on we got to the reptiles. There we
saw a boa constrictor and a white or yellow
anaconda.
In San Diego Wild Animal Park,
we went on a train ride to see all kinds of animals
just in their rightful habitats with other animals.
We saw giraffes, mountain goats, and rhinos. The
rhino mama was protecting her baby from another
animal. It was neat to see.
In Sea World, we got to see
Shamu. But we didn’t sit in the front where we could
get wet because my parents said that killer whales
live in a cold habitat, so the water would be cold.
We went to the day show, but then we heard that
there would be a night show that was better. So when
we went to night show, it was WAY better. They had
colorful lights and fireworks. But the show was
different, and they had better tricks. Anyway,
afterward, we saw a police on a horse. For
protection, they had a light on the horse. . . . But
it was on its butt. So we kept joking about how the
horse’s butt was flashing.
The last place we went to was
Disney Land. There, we went on a lot of rides. We
went on a tea cup ride (remember, I was seven), then
we went on a ride carved in a mountain that was
scary. It had a lot of twists and turns. And it got
to a point where we were in a dark tunnel and
lighted creatures would appear. Then, we went on an
Indiana Jones ride. It was cool and in one point on
the ride, there was a big rock that was coming
toward us, but at the last moment, we fell down
under it and escaped. The last ride was a water
ride. We were going up and down hills. But then it
got to a big one. . . . . We went up. . . and up. .
. . and up. . . . . until we got to the top. . . . .
. and we went straight down 100 miles an hour! I was
DRENCHED in water. I even thought I lost my dad’s
hat. But he found it beside him. It was funny
because I screaming with sorriness, and then he
found it! |
