BEACHES GALORE!

NOT THE SHOW, THE ACTUAL PLACE! LAGUNA BEACH, CA
By: Jennifer, 12, PA (AKA NYCGirl8)
Laguna Beach, CA, located north of San Diego, and
south of LA, is one of the most gorgeous places on
earth. I have been to Jamaica, Florida, Texas,
Aruba, Arizona, Maine, but this trip was my
favorite. This cute beach town and beautiful beach
is in a convenient spot, so it is easy to get to Los
Angeles, Disneyland, Sea World, or San Diego. The
town is very artsy, and is fun to hang out in.
Newport Beach, Balboa Island, and Huntington Beach
are really close too, and are also cool towns. The
beaches are really nice, and the ocean is the right
temperature with awesome waves for boogie-boarders,
surfers, or body-surfers! Totally plan your next
vacation to this southern Cali beach.
THE BEACHES OF MUSKEGON
By: Julianne, 12, MI (AKA hellogurl14)
Muskegon is located on the west coast of Michigan.
There are a bunch of beaches. You get to swim in
Lake Michigan, or you can hike along on the dunes.
If you can't make it in the summer, come in winter
and enjoy the winter sports complex. Where there is
cross-country skiing, luge, or an outdoor skating
rink. There are forests where if you look closely
you can find deer, foxes or wild turkeys. In Silver
Lake, which is very close to Muskegon, you can take
dune buggy rides, or in Grand Haven, which is also
very close, there are small shops. Also in Grand
Haven there is a musical fountain that runs Memorial
Day through Labor Day. There is so much to see and
do in Muskegon, so come and see for yourself!
HARRISON HOT SPRINGS
By: Lisa, 9,
Canada (AKA 433-8655)
Last weekend I went to Harrison Hot springs (in
British Columbia, Canada) with my family. Harrison
looks like a small town with a few shops and the
beach. But once you start to walk around and you
realize how much fun you're having, you really start
to get connected and forget about your home. It has
a really nice beach with a lagoon off to the side
(but the lagoon is sooo big!) and it also has lots
of shops and some restaurants and a couple motels.
Once I got out of the car and looked around, I
thought, "I hate this place and want to go back
home!" My sister thought the same thing, by the
looks on her face. But when we left 3 days later, I
didn't want to leave! The beautiful beach, the warm
hot springs pool, the great places to eat. I think I
really got connected to Harrison. If your family is
thinking of going on, I don't know, a weeklong trip,
I TOTALLY recommend Harrison! I swear you will LOVE
it. It may be a lot different from your home, but
when we have to leave, you won't want to. You know
the saying, "Never judge a book by it's cover," well
same goes here, don't do that to Harrison either! |
