TRAVEL TIPS: Packing for Sleepaway Camp
A really popular activity to do in the summer is to go away to sleepaway camp. I remember the first time that I went to sleepaway camp I was kind of nervous to leave my family and my friends behind and go away for one month and meet all new people. Sleep away camp isn't for everyone, but I had so much fun and didn't want to go home in the end! Here are some tips for sleepaway camp that I'm sure will help you feel more comfortable and make your time away from home so much more fun!
1. Bring a journal with you
you will be able to write down everything that goes on at camp and if you ever get sad, scared or homesick you can write it down in your journal to get your feelings out. It is also is really fun to read when you get home!
2. Don't forget the camera
it's such a bummer when something really funny happens at camp and you didn't bring a camera to catch the moment. Make sure that you bring one to camp, so that when you go home you can look at all the funny things that happened and show your friends and family your other friends, who become like your family, at camp.
3. Bring your favorite blanket or stuffed animal this will make you feel a
lot more connected to home if you ever feel like you are getting homesick. Wrapping your special blanket around you, or cuddling up with your stuffed animal can make you feel so much better if you ever feel like you are missing home.
