TRAVEL REVIEW: New York City, USA
Where there are lots of bright lights, there are plenty of sights ask anyone who's been to New York City the city that never sleeps! If you're headed to the Big Apple for vacation, or just for a daytrip, ask mom or dad to (pretty please!) bring you to one of these unforgettable places.
1. Madame Tussaud's: Do you ever wish you could meet Beyonce or the boys of *NSync, or that you could perform in front of Simon from American Idol? You can, if you visit Madame Tussaud's in Times Square (it's where the ball drops every New Year's Eve!). In this wax museum, you'll find uncanny doubles of your favorite celebrities!
2. Disney on Broadway: You've probably seen more Disney movies than you can count on your fingers but how many girls can say they've seen Disney on Broadway? "The Lion King" and "Beauty and the Beast" combine the magic of Disney with the amazing talent of Broadway actors and actresses. Tickets are pricy (starting at $40), but most people who've seen the shows will tell you they are worth ever penny.
3. Macy's: Have a shopping itch that's dying to be scratched? Head on over to Macy's in Herald Square on 34th Street (remember the movie, Miracle on 34th Street? This is where it happened!). It's the world's largest department store! When you go to the mall at home, the girls' department is probably only a small part of the floor. At this Macy's, it is the entire floor! You'll be in a shopper's heaven!
4. American Girl Place: On Fifth Avenue, you'll find the American Girl Place, which is much more than a store to buy American Girl dolls (though they have the best selection around!). It's truly an experience bring your American Girl doll along and you can dine at the American Girl Café. Then, you can stop by the theatre to see the American Girl Revue, a play which brings the lives of the American Girl characters to life. It was written by Broadway playwrights, so expect to be dazzled!
5. Planet Hollywood: After walking all around the city, you'll be starving! Satisfy your hunger at Planet Hollywood, right in Times Square (it's directly across from the MTV studios, so if you watch TRL, look for it in the background!). As you eat, pay close attention to your surroundings, because the walls are decorated with props from lots of cool movies!
