Neiman Marcus Building, Downtown Dallas |
When you think of Texas, cowboys and
ranches come to
mind, right? Think again. Although I live in Dallas,
I think it would be a fun vacation spot for girls
who don’t. Dallas is a big city, but not as crowded
and congested as places like New York City. A fun
place to visit when you’re in Dallas is the West
Village, where there’re tons of cute boutiques and
great restaurants. Another must-see place is the
Galleria mall, one of the largest malls in Texas.
The Dallas Zoo is also awesome if you like animals.
If you are into fashion, definitely check out the
first Neiman-Marcus ever built, in downtown Dallas.
It is beautiful, and every year at Christmastime,
they unveil a different theme for the store, and
decorate a tree. While you’re there, browse around
the Kids section, where there is a large assortment
of Juicy Couture items and more. If your mom wants
to shop there too, where there are small showrooms
with designers like Chanel and Prada, your dad can
relax in the Men’s Lounge, where there are three
TV’s, magazines, the newspaper, and everything to
keep him entertained while your mom spends all his
money!!! If you’re looking for delicious food, try
Potbelly Sandwich Works. The sandwiches are hot and
fresh when you get them, and they make it right in
front of you. They also pile it high with whatever
you want, so if you want turkey, they add LOTS of
turkey. There is a dartboard hung up, and it has the
names of all the sandwiches with the words, "Can’t
Decide? Ask for a Dart!" There is live music often
as well. Looking for a luxury hotel? Hotel ZaZa is
where all the celebrities stay when they tour in
Dallas. It is on the list of the 500 Best Hotels in
the World, and you will not be upset with the hotel
room that tempts you to stay in it all day, rather
than just night. It also has great food and fabulous
services. I’ve told you a lot about Dallas, and I
hope you visit!

The
Buckman Tavern,
Lexington, MA |
Hi my name is Caroline and I live in Lexington,
Massachusetts. Lexington is a medium sized town with
a lot to see. The Revolutionary War took place right
in Lexington. You can go and stand on one of the
battlefields that is now a park. Also in Lexington
center are some old colonial houses. One of those
houses is called "The Buckman Tavern". (A tavern is
a hotel.) I have been in there for a third grade
field trip. In the tavern you can see many things.
My 2 favorite things I saw were the door Paul Revere
knocked on and a chair George Washington sat on.
There are other cool things in the Buckman Tavern
too. Also in Lexington is "The Lexington National
Heritage Museum". That has lots of cool stuff there
too. So you can see why you should visit Lexington.
Oh I forgot…nearby there is a huge mall also! So
come visit! |
