Just Help Out!
By: Alanna, 9 (aka lananana12)
Just Help Out! Is what I learned. It was
getting close to the summer when a group
of people at school put together a
fundraiser. We sold cookies, brownies,
and punch to help out animal abuse. In
the end we sold $78.56 for the local
humane society. I was so impressed with
myself that I decided to earn more money
and send it to the humane society. I did
lemonade stands, chores, and put in my
allowance money. I earned $26.42. They
highly appreciated it. Then, I decided
to help even MORE! I downloaded a form
to volunteer at the local humane society
or pet store. Unfortunately they didn’t
need any more volunteers. But I learned
to Just Help Out!
A True Difference
By: Jasmine, 11 (aka ow101)
Well, the other day I was just reading
the article on the great pacific garbage
patch and I was thinking that we REALLY
CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE! To start,
yesterday on my way to and from school I
brought along a wal-mart bag and I
picked up the trash that was blowing
away, on the ground, and next to garbage
cans. I’m not trying to make myself
sound like a superhero, but it is true
that one person can make a difference,
for example, our neighborhood president
makes a day once a month where the
volunteers go out with trash cans and
pick up all the trash! I’m just saying,
if you want a better tomorrow today,
then get your coat on, get a trash bag,
gather some of your best friends, and GO
MAKE A DIFFERENCE!!!
Birthday For Charity
By: Jordan, 10 (aka heypeeps74)
My sister is one of the most amazing
people ever. For 2 years now, on her
birthday instead of asking for presents,
she donates money to charity. She has
everyone bring 5$. Last year, she
donated to Make A Wish, and raised over
1500$, because the guests raised 450$,
and our grandma and grandpa donated
450$, and so did my parents. Year 1’s
theme was Dress like a Movie Star, Party
like a Rock Star. Year 2’s theme was
Birthday Bowl, or sports. We have done
it at the Casper Recreational Center, in
Wyoming. My sister’s talent and
dedication has helped our city in such a
positive way.
