GREEEN: IT’S NOT JUST A COLOR
By: Bianca, 11 (aka: BiscuitRox)

People all over the world are taking action on becoming "Green". Others say that "Green" is just a color. Being Green can be simple, but to others it has no meaning. I say NO, it does have a meaning .Just think of your grandchildren. What if they aren’t able to walk outside of their own houses? That is just sad. But you can make a difference! Yes, you and everyone else you know can! People like the Disney Channel stars our teaming up on an organization called "Friends For Change" where they are teaming up on projects to help save the planet. If you go to their website www.disneychannel.com/friendsforchange you can pledge and start acting right now!!!! I have included a few tips and ideas for you to start becoming greener!! Remember Green isn’t just a color. : )

  1. If you have a trash can get a reusable bag and if you have any water bottles, unwanted paper or plastic put it in your plastic bag and when the garbage truck comes get a cardboard box and dump all the contents and they will take it away to be recycled.

  2. Save water by taking shorter showers.

  3. DON’T LITTER! If you litter, just think of how polluted our Earth is going to be. Would you like it if you were breathing in dirty air, I didn’t think so. TIP Alert: If you have trash, wait to throw away you’re in your garbage or recycle anything that doesn’t to in a garbage can - not on the middle of the road.

  4. Keep a plant in your room, it can reduce a lot of bad air and it can brighten up your room and freshen it up too.

  5. Turn off all electricity when not in use. If you want your room to have light in it and it’s a sunny day lift up your blinds and let in the bright sunlight. If you need to use your light, use energy saving light bulbs.

These are just some of the many ways where you can find out how you can be greener. Now get up get off your butts and go make a difference!
