KSM Is Going To Be B-I-G!
Picture this: You and four of your BFFs backstage, looking glam, getting revved up by the roar of the crowd, about to go onstage to rock the house as opening act for Demi Lovato or the Jonas Brothers! Sound like a dream? Well, welcome to the world of KSM, a new, all girl rock group out of LA that happens to be made up of five of the most talented and stylish new musicians on the scene!

Meet The Girls
Meet the gifted musicians of KSM:

Shae Padilla - Lead Guitar
Hailing from Lancaster California, Shae first picked up the guitar at age 12 and has been rockin’ out ever since! Shae loves her pets and her favorite candy is Twix. Described by her bandmate besties as the quietest and neatest of the group, her secret talent is a wicked impersonation of Gingy and Pinocchio from ‘Shrek’. Her celeb crush is Ryan Reynolds and her favorite fashion look is bright skinny jeans.

Kate Cabebe - Drums
Kate was born in San Francisco, California. As a child, Kate took piano, mandolin, guitar and bass lessons until, at age 13, she discovered the joy of banging on the drums. Kate is described as the biggest kid in KSM and a MAJOR jokester. Watch out- she pulls a lot of pranks! Kate’s style tip for girls-wear lots of ties!

Shelby Cobra - Lead Vocals
Sixteen year old lead vocalist Shelby Cobra grew up near Six Flags Magic Mountain in Southern California. Her dreams of becoming a singer started at age 4 when she took a remote control to her mouth and belted out tunes in her grandma’s living room. No girls, her last name is not really ‘Cobra’, it’s a nickname she acquired in junior high for her love of the vintage 1965 Shelby Cobra convertible. Described by her bandmates as the wildest girl in KSM, Shelby loves to kick back and throw a Frisbee around with band guitarist Shae. Her celeb crush is Andy Samberg and she loves wearing headbands with bows and vintage belts.

Sophia Melon - Bass and Backup Vocals
Sophia Melon, an 18 year old Selena Gomez lookalike, plays a hot pink bass guitar and loves to work out everyday. Her bandmates describe her as the most mature member of KSM. Sophia played in various bands before finding her home in KSM. “The guys in my bands treated me with respect, but when I would perform, I got a lot of ‘Oh, she’s not a real musician.’ I always had to prove myself. My dream was to find an all-girl band, and I finally found it.” Sophia’s celeb crush is Bradley Cooper and her fave accessories are long necklaces and silver bracelets.

Katie Cecil - Rhythm Guitar and Backup Vocals
Bubbly 15 year old Katie has been performing ever since she could talk. At age 12, she began coming out to California and landing guest roles in hit TV shows like ‘Medium’ and ‘Criminal Minds’. Despite her love of acting, music will always be #1 in Katie’s heart. She started playing guitar when she was 13 and joined KSM shortly after. Katie is described as the most outgoing and flirty girl in KSM. Her celeb crush is Shia LaBeouf.

Debut Album
“KSM is all about girl power and showing girls can rock too!”

The band came up with their unique name by combining all of the girls first initials, all K’s and S’, and M for music.

Shae, Kate, Shelby, Sophia and Katie are thrilled they will soon be able to share their fun and danceable music with you! Their debut album, ‘Read Between The Lines’, is due out in September. Being mentored by classic ‘80’s girl band, The Go Go’s, and working with top producers and songwriters Matthew Gerrard and Robbie Nevil was a dream come true for the band.

“Working with a big label was really cool. We have a lot of support behind us at Buena Vista. A lot of people, like the whole record company, come to our shows when we play in LA. It’s really fun to see that kind of support behind us and it makes us want to work harder and have more fun doing it.”

So, which of the thirteen catchy songs off of ‘Read Between The Lines’ is the group’s favorite? “We each have our own favorite song, like my personal favorite is ‘Like Crazy Over You’, it’s just a fun song and we, well I, love to perform it” says lead singer Shelby.

“My favorite is actually a song called ‘Slow Motion’, it’s got a cool rock chorus in it”, says guitarist Shae. Katie Cecil chimes in, “My favorite is ‘Read Between The Lines’ because we have been paying a lot of attention to the lyrics lately.”

Besides their new album, KSM can be heard singing ‘I Want You To Want Me’, the theme song for the new ABC Family comedy show ‘10 Things I Hate About You’.

Life On The Road
SM recently finished a summer tour with Demi Lovato and will soon be headed back out on the road with Mitchel Musso. “We’re looking forward to hitting the same places and see if we see any familiar faces in the audience.”

“Touring is a lot of fun. It’s been fun to play these really cool venues. We get to hang out with fans and do meet and greets after. It’s a lot of fun to get to meet people and travel places!”

When KSM is not busy rocking out on stage and doing meet and greets with adoring fans, they love to chill and listen to music in the back lounge of their tour bus, which they’ve nicknamed ‘The Lava Lounge’. “We like to hang out on our computers, we watch movies, we sleep a lot, we just try to find a lot of things to pass the time ‘cause we have a lot of long bus drives.” Sounds like a fab hangout spot!
