INTERVIEW: Karla Deras

At two years old Karla was singing songs that she heard at her family's church. No one -- not even her parents would have guessed how quickly she would have evolved into a triple threat performer: singing, acting, and dancing. Bi-lingual Karla loves Hip-Hop.

What is the best thing about your job?
You know not very many people are satisfied with their jobs so just being able to go to work everyday knowing that you love what you do is the greatest feeling in the world.

What was your most embarrassing audition moment?
I don't have an embarrassing audition moment, but I have plenty of embarrassing stories!

If you could live in any past era which would it be and why?
Probably the 20's or 80's. I love the style such as the leggings, leather jackets, short dresses, plunging necklines, and bobbed hair cuts. In fact, most of the fashion is in style now.

Who is your role model?
Beyonce Knowles. Of course she's an amazing performer but I also admire her work ethic and how she's kept her image so classy.

What do you do for fun?
I like spending time with my family and friends, going shopping, running, and sketching clothing. I'd love to become a fashion designer one day.

Tell us about your pets.
I own the cutest pug ever! His name is Spencer :)

Do you have a good luck charm?
I don't have a charm, but I always say a small prayer before a performance.

Do you like to cook? If so, what?
I'm slowly learning to cook. I'm trying to follow my mother's recipes!

What's your favorite flavor of ice cream?
Belgian chocolate is amazing.

Favorite kids book?
I used to read the "Babysitters Club" collection when I was younger.

If you could interview any celeb whom would it be and why?
I would love to interview Ashley Olsen not only because she's my style icon but because she's such a great businesswoman.

Anything about yourself you wish you could change?
I tend to say what I'm thinking out loud and that's not always good.

If you could be granted 3 wishes, they'd be.
1. to be a platinum recording artist and win a Grammy
2. to become a successful business woman
3. to get a black Range Rover with 24 inch black rims and seat warmers.

Where on earth are you most dying to go?
I would love to visit Greece, Spain, and the Isle Capri.
