Night at the Museum
In 2006, a fantastic opportunity came Jake’s way -
the chance to audition for the role of Nick Daley in
the new movie ‘Night at the Museum’! “The process
takes a really long time.” says Jake. “First you go
and audition, then you get a callback and then you
go to a producer session and then a director
session. Then you occasionally will work with some
of the actors. I had to keep working with the actors
and working with the director then I finally got
‘Night at the Museum’”.
How did Jake react when he heard the good news? “I
probably was screaming at the top of my lungs for a
few days” he joked.
Jake had a blast filming both ‘Night at the Museum’
and the sequel ‘Night at the Museum: Battle of the
Smithsonian’. The film sets in Vancouver were not to
be believed! “There were mummies and sarcophaguses
and jackal guards and it was the coolest thing I had
ever seen.”
Superstars Ben Stiller and Robin Williams were his
costars in the movies. “Ben Stiller is a funny guy,
but a normal guy doing his job. Robin Williams on
the other hand, funniest guy in the world between
takes. You can’t stop laughing.”
When asked to name his favorite scene to film in the
latest movie, Jake replied “Definitely with the
monkeys! There’s actually a limited edition ‘Monkey
Mischief’ DVD. It includes over 30 minutes of fun
and interesting featurettes about the monkeys.”
Sounds awesome!
