INTERVIEW: Chris Warren

A lot has changed for 17-year-old Chris Warren, Jr. in the last few years-namely, High School Musical. The seminal teen hit has done a lot to his life and, now, he's bracing for the onslaught of press (and hysteria) for the sequel, which is set to debut on the Disney Channel on August 17th.

Recently, our friends at Teenmag got to chat with Chris about all things Zeke Baylor. And, here's what he had to say…

Chris Warren

TEEN: So…are you psyched for people to get to see HSM 2?
Chris Warren Jr.:
Yes! It's going to be huge. I didn't really know what to expect [the first time] but this movie is going to be much more highly anticipated because the first one was so successful so it's going to be really, really good.

TEEN: Do we get to know more about Zeke this time 'round?
C.W.:
Well, I'm still doing the same old stuff. I'm still in love with Sharpay and I'm still baking - actually a lot more in this one because there's a whole kitchen so I get to I get to wear a baking outfit like a chef. [And, this time] you don't just see me bring food out, you get to see me cooking it.

TEEN: DO you ever bake anything in real life?
C.W.:
I do, actually. I bake cookies and I make breakfast for my parents.

TEEN: Sweet! Was making this movie different than doing the first one?
C.W.:
Yeah, everybody was really close. We'd known each other for two years since the first one so it was comfortable. It was a lot of fun and a really good time.

TEEN: Have a favorite scene?
C.W.:
The I Don't Dance sequence, where we incorporate baseball and dancing. We get to play sports and it was really one of the most difficult dances. I think it'll be a really cool part of the movie.

TEEN: Well, we can't wait to see it. And, we KNOW, legions of fans can't wait either. Thanks Chris!
