Tisdale |
Is there anything Ashley Tisdale can’t do? She
first sang and danced her way into our hearts in the
wildly popular ‘High School Musical’ franchise. Now
she’s at the top of the pyramid again, playing
cheerleader Savannah on the hit TV show ‘Hellcats’.
Get to know Ashley Tisdale, the brunette actress who
is soooo much nicer than her character Sharpay
Evans! Full Name: Ashley Michelle Tisdale
Favorite Food: French Toast
Birthday: July 2nd, 1985
Hometown: West Deal, New Jersey
Height: 5’3
Favorite Animal: Penguin
Favorite Sport: Basketball
Favorite Book: ‘The Great Gatsby’
Celeb Crush: Jake Gyllenhaal How are you
similar and different from Sharpay Evans?
Ashley: I’m nothing like Sharpay! I was never
the popular girl at school, although I can probably
relate to her because of her passion for performing.
I love to perform, so that’s probably the one and
only thing we have in common.
What was the best thing about being in the ‘High
School Musical’ franchise?
Ashley: I think the fact that I have
castmates that are now my friends for life. We had
this really big connection, so it was like getting
to work with your best friends every day. On the
last day of filming, we were all so emotional that
we couldn’t even get through the last scene. We just
sat there, holding each other, all six of us. It was
so hard to say goodbye. While we’re all going to do
separate projects now, I know we’ll always be there
for each other, no matter what.
Were you popular in school?
Ashley: I moved from New Jersey to
California, so I know what it feels like being the
new girl trying to figure it out. There was this
girl in the popular group who was jealous of me,
even though I bought my own clothes and car- my
parents didn’t give them to me.
How would you describe yourself?
Ashley: I’m definitely a dreamer. I dreamed
of being on TV shows and movies ever since I was a
little girl. In fact, I’ve been in this business
since I was three. I’m driven and I’m always honest,
although sometimes I can be very blunt. I guess I’m
one of those girls who can be too honest about
things for my own good, but I expect it back. I
expect people to be honest and blunt with me too.
Which is your favorite: singing, acting or
dancing?
Ashley: I’m definitely not a dancer. I can
move well, but it’s more about the acting and the
singing for me. Acting and singing are completely
different, so I can’t say which one l like better
because I love them both. I love acting because I
get to play different characters. But I also love my
music because I get to portray me. My fans can get
to know me better through my music, which is
something I really like.
What advice would you give girls who are trying
to break into show business?
Ashley: I would say stay true to yourself
because there is a lot of fakeness in this industry.
Work hard and follow your dreams, but never forget
where you came from.
What types of roles would you like to do in the
future?
Ashley: I definitely want to get more into
romantic comedies and drama. I just want something
to really challenge me as an actress. I want to show
a different side of me and show what I can do. All
this other stuff I have done has been challenging
and fun, but there’s so much more I can do and I
want to show that.
