By: Annie, 11, PA (AKA Pennsylvanian_7)

Most kids across the country think their school library is full of boring reference books. And almost every single one of them is wrong. Your school library is full of tons of great books, you just have to dig deep to find them. Check to see if your library has these great books:

All American Girl, by Meg Cabot
Samantha Madison, a 16-year-old girl, who is overshadowed by her older and younger sisters, becomes a national hero when she saves the President of the United States from an assassination attempt. Can Sam handle the new pressure of being a celebrity?

Jade Green
If you like ghost stories, this one's for you! This book is about a girl whose mother dies and has to move in with her uncle who has a strange rule about living under his roof, nothing green is allowed in the house. At first, she thinks it's just that he has a certain distaste for the color. Then she unearths the real reason why green isn't allowed. There is a secret, deep in the house walls of a girl who came there before she did. And why she isn't there anymore. Can she solve the mystery of the girl, or will the desperate spirit destroy them all?

The S.A.S.S. books
These books are all about girls who go on foreign exchange trips to different countries. At first, they just go for the fun of it. But at the end of the trip, they discover a secret with in the country, and a secret within themselves.

Eleven
Winnie and her best friend Amanda have been friends for as long as everyone can remember. But now that they're 11, things are changing. When school starts, Amanda starts hanging out with a girl named Gail who only seems to care about being popular, and that's how Amanda's starting to act, too. Can Winnie and Amanda get over their differences, or will their friendship be broken forever?
