HOW TO TAKE TRICK PICTURES

Have you always wondered how to make yourself look really big standing next to a house? Ever thought about holding your friend in the palm of your hand? You can learn how to do trick photography with a good digital camera, some friends and a big imagination. Here are some fun illusions to try and set up that are perfect for beginners. Your pictures will look so real; you’ll fool all your friends and family.

Trick 1 - There Once Was a Girl Who Lived In a Shoe

  • -Find a place that has a simple landscape like all grass or dirt.
  • Place the sneaker on the ground in front of you.
  • Tell your friend to sit down far away from the shoe, enough that they look like they are sitting inside it.
  • Crouch down to the shoe level and makes sure the camera focuses in and you can’t see your friend’s bottom half.

Trick 2 - Heads Or Headless

  • This is a really funny shot to take. You’ll need two people for this one.
  • Have one person sit facing away from the camera on a ledge or table. The other person will kneel down beside them, with only their head sticking out.
  • The most important part of this trick is that the person facing away should have their head bent down so that the camera can’t see it.
  • To add to the weirdness, make the headless person put their hand on top of the kneeling person’s head!

Trick 3 - In the Palm of My Hand

  • This one works really well if you have one young person and one old person do this trick.
  • Find a slightly sloping ground like a hill.
  • Have the older person stand up on the hill.
  • Put the small person the same line of sight, but closer to the camera.
  • The close person needs to put their hand out to the side, palm facing up and a little tilted away from the camera.
  • The older person on the hill should be standing in the middle of the close person’s hand. It might take some adjusting to get them to both line up, so be patient. Have them do a funny pose like dancing or playing air guitar.
