HOW TO TACKLE NERVOUSNESS
By: Tyler, 10, (aka Tayloretta)
Nervousness.
The word that most people really don’t want to hear.
Especially when they are doing something really
important like doing a play or the original
nervousness magnet, the thing that you end up biting
your nails until they are up to the nub of your
finger for. What is it? You guessed it. Talent
Night. Yes, Talent night, the thing that some people
work months for until they think it’s perfect but by
the time their on stage. BOOM! It ends up so bad
that it seems like all they did was lay down and
sleep during the practice time that they had and
probably only dreamed of what they were going to and
never bothered to practice it. And when you up on
stage it leads to- Nervousness. There is a girl who
is an excellent singer and has the best voice that
anybody’s ears would stick up to. I don’t really
know her life story except for the fact that she
went on American Idol and auditioned with the song
‘‘Because of You’’ You couldn’t tell the nervousness
that she must have felt. But she did it. Now she has
these really good songs that are probably #1 on the
charts( I kind of forgot, but I like them a lot).
Her songs are called "Tattoo", and ‘‘One Step at a
Time’’ and I assure you that she will probably be
doing more. Did you guess who she is yet? You got
it. Jordin Sparks. As you can see, not all people
show nervousness when they have it, like how Jordin
Sparks might have covered it up, or maybe she didn’t
feel any nervousness at all. Well, you never know.
But you see, know matter who you are nervousness
doesn’t have to mask you up that well. And here are
some tips to help you do just that:
- When you are up on stage at your talent show
(the number 1 nervousness attracter) try to take
a deep breath. At least some of the nervousness
is gone.
- DO NOT IMAGINE THE AUDIENCE IN THEIR
UNDERWEAR!!!!!!!! That will just make you even
more nervous because you might imagine them with
their faces totally red with embarrassment and
embarrassment leads to nervousness and that
nervousness will add on to the nervousness that
you already have.
- Ask for help. You could ask your best friend
or just some really close friends for help. You
could try practicing in front of them and they
could give you tips to help you improve what
your doing and that would help you for when your
time comes. Trust me, I’ve done it before and I
was Great. I’m not trying to brag but that was
what the judges thought!
So next time nervousness gets a hold of you,
think of al the celebs who have gone through
nervousness and also try these tips. It would seem
like you were never nervous at all. |
