SERIOUS FOR CEREAL
By: Bria, 13, (aka pizzalover1)
I’ve
always felt bad for poor people. So I was excited
when my small private school got to do something to
help. For the month of January, we were doing a
cereal drive for the hungry called Serious for
Cereal. We tried to bring in as many mini-boxes of
cereal as we could. It was great going to school
every day, seeing the boxes of cereal slowly pile
up. Finally, in the beginning of February, we had a
school assembly to announce the cereal totals. My
tiny school of about 250 kids had brought in so many
tiny boxes of cereal. The total number of little
boxes of cereal was ... 12,710!!!! This made my day
to know how much we had helped others, and I’m sure
it will be making many other people’s day as they
can eat cereal. I wrote this article not to brag
about my school, but to try to motivate YOU to do
whatever you can to help someone else or make a
difference. |
