How To Make Thanksgiving Healthy
By: soccerchick4665

Here's a guide on how to make Thanksgiving Dinner a little healthier:

1. Eat a salad or fruit before. Eating healthy fruits and vegetables before a meal makes you feel less hungry, so you're less likely to fill up on unhealthy foods.

2. Help make dinner. Offering to make the mashed potatoes means you decide what goes in them. Skip the cream, use only half the butter, mix in mashed cauliflower - there's lots of possibilities! This way you'll know exactly what you're eating.

3. Portions, Portions, Portions. Remember that you can eat anything with the right portions. So instead of filling your plate up with dinner rolls and mashed potatoes, make yourself a deal - one cup of veggies for every one roll you eat. Easy way to fill up the healthy way!

4. Exercise. Okay, so maybe it's not the best idea to start a three-mile jog right after all that turkey, so why not exercise the day before? Yoga and Pilates are two exercises that you can do inside on cold winter days. Try doing double to lessen the Thanksgiving load.

5. Skip all the extras. Your bread will still taste good without that pat of butter. And that pie will still be delicious without the heaping spoonful of whipped cream. Cutting these toppings will cut out a ton of excess calories.

Have a great Thanksgiving!
