HOW TO LIFT YOUR SPIRITS
By: Annie, 13 (aka Pennsylvanian_7)
Ever
have those days when you feel like nothing’s going
right, and everything’s going wrong? These ten tunes
are guaranteed to lift your mood every time!
- I Can’t Wait-Hilary Duff
Even though I’m not as into her music anymore,
this is one of Hilary’s best! It’s just about
learning that life is good, and there’s always a
light at the end of every tunnel.
- Dare You To Move- Switchfoot
I love this song because it can literally be
applied to any situation. Maybe it’s making new
friends in a whole new school, getting up the
courage to talk to that guy you really like, or
if you’re just feeling down. It’s about getting
out there instead of sitting around feeling
sorry for yourself. It’s really an awesome song.
- Breathe- Michelle Branch
This is one song I always listen to when I’m
having a bad day. It’s just about letting go and
letting life take you where it will.
- Born for This- Paramore
This is a great song to listen to if you’re
nervous about something. Say you’re about to go
and audition for the school play, and you can’t
seem to shake the butterflies out of your
stomach. Just relax, you were born for this!
- Music Is My Boyfriend- Skye Sweetnam
Guy trouble? Skye rocks out in this
free-spirited song about not needing any silly
boys, just music! Grab a few friends and rock
out to this song together-it makes it that much
better when you’re singing along with your
girls!
- Together- Michelle Branch
Missing far away friends? Listen to this! High
school recently split me and a lot of my friends
up, and whenever I start to miss them, I listen
to this. It literally is about belonging with
your friends even though you’re far apart. I
already have it up to about 32 it my iTunes play
count. I really recommend it!
- It’s Only Life- Kate Voegele
A great song to listen to if you’ve had a bad
day. Like "Breathe", it’s just about letting go
and going with the flow.
- I’m Still Here- Vertical Horizon
A great song to listen to if you’ve just split
up with someone- friend, boyfriend, anyone.
Especially if you were the one that ended the
relationship and you’re feeling a little upset
about it. To me, it’s a message to you that it’s
ok to end relationships, especially if the other
person wasn’t a good person to be in it with.
- On The Radio- Regina Spektor
Feeling bad and don’t know why? That’s totally
normal for girls our age! Listen to this and you
won’t be able to help getting hooked on Regina’s
incredibly unique voice. Her other songs like
Fidelity and Hotel Song are also just pure fun
and instantly make you feel better.
- <insert song and artist here>
Nothing makes you feel better like your own
favorite song! So plug your iPod in and crank up
your own tunes! I guarantee the blues will soon
be history.
