Here’s the diary entry I promised:
8/22: Hellooooo Diary! Tomorrow is my 12th
birthday and I am soooo excited! We’re going
to a place to paint our own plates and cups
and other things! Last time I made my sister
a green plate with flowers. Mom is getting
my favorite cupcakes for all of us. It’s
going to be soooo fun! But I’m nervous! I
hope Sami comes! We got in a fight about
Matthew. But I know Rachel and Sarah and
Jenny will for sure be there to celebrate
with me! Good thing no boys allowed!
Hope you keep your diaries forever like I
have! It’s so fun to look at them! I also
have little drawings, notes and pictures in
there.
For this week, get out of your chair or
couch and get your heart pumping! It’s
healthy to be moving for at least an hour
throughout the day. This can mean playing
outside in the leaves or snow, taking a walk
or jog, playing a sport, participating in a
game during recess, dancing in your room to
some Willow Smith, or a combination of all
of the above! Make sure to drink some water
and write about it in your journal!

The Real You
by: Sophia, 12 (aka: kool1016a)
I am a thirteen year old girl, and I have a
problem. My problem is that people, such as
celebrities, make teens feel cautious about
their body, the way they dress, and even how
they speak. Do you know why this is a
problem? It’s a problem because people,
especially teenage girls, are losing their
self confidence more and more everyday! I am
a witness of this problem, and I know a way
to stop it.
People need to focus on positive things
about themselves, like I love my voice, I
have great style, or I love how I’m so
athletic. All of these things are positive
statements about you. Teenage girls need to
look at themselves and express the real you.
Be the best you that you can be! Don’t worry
about what you look like compared to pop
stars. Be who you are. I know that you’re in
there somewhere! |
