A: You have to start by building a portfolio of your photos. Take your camera and start shooting and keep your best prints in a folder. Show them to your school newspaper or a local magazine and maybe you can get published. Before you do that, though, study the publication so that you know what kind of photos they look for. That way, you can show them what they want to see. If the school newspaper likes candid shots of students, then take those. If a local magazine likes “beauty shots” of local scenery, then take those. – Justine
