CUTE CLIPS: Making Barrettes
Ever see those really cute hair clips in stores? You know, the ones with pretty fabric flowers or cool beads or jewels? Sure, they're in style and look great but WHO CAN AFFORD $10+ for one lousy barrette?
So, what's a girl who wants to be fashion forward but not penniless, to do? Make your own! It's easy, super-cheap and a great way to get creative and express yourself. So, why not grab a pal or two (or, hey, if you're more creative by yourself, have at it alone) and get busy!
Here's what you'll need...
- A pack or two of plain barrettes, bobby pins, headbands or jaw clips which are available at any drug store or beauty supply place for no more than a few dollars. (Note: Wide headbands are easier to work with.)
- A selection of fabric flowers, beads, rhinestones, shells, ribbon, buttons, etc. whatever appeals to you. Head to a craft store like Joann's or Michael's they have TONS of things to chose from and it's totally fun.
- A tube of Crazy Glue or, if your parents would prefer, white school glue. Either will work.
