TIE DYE GLAMOUR
Bored? Here's an idea for a craft project that's fun AND fashionable!
Tie dyeing hit the height of popularity way back in the '60s it was what any self-respecting hippie worethese days it's once again all the rage and, why not? You don't have to be a fan of The Grateful Dead or a Rastafarian to love the look. It's cool. Period.
So, how's it done? Simple. Read on…
Tie dye is really self-explanatory you tie up a piece of fabric and dye it. Duh.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED:
- A light colored tee shirt (or pillow case or table cloth or pajama bottoms, night shirt, etc.)
- Some rubber bands
- A bunch of marbles (optional)
- Rubber gloves to protect your hands
- A wooden stick (chop sticks work, or you can grab a tree branch)
- A large container (glass or metal bowls will work, as will empty rubber trash cans or buckets just be sure not to use anything rubber that you care about, as the dye will more than likely stain it for good)
- Dye (RIT is available in most grocery and drug stores and works super well and is CHEAP!)
- A washing machine
