SILHOUETTE MURALS
Submitted by Alex, 12, from New Jersey!

For a cool touch to any room, paint a silhouette mural. These are easy and fun to do.

First, take a picture of you, your pets, your friends, whatever makes you happy and you'd like to have on your wall. You might have to take lots before you find one that you like. Next, go to any office supply store, such as Staples or Office Depot, and buy transparency sheets. Print your picture out on one of the sheets. Next, you will need to rent an overhead projector. Once you have done that, you can place the transparency sheet with the picture on it on the projector. Make sure that the projector is facing toward the wall. Then, trace the outlines of your picture onto the wall with a pencil. Next, paint your picture with black acrylic paint. Once you have done that, take a black, silky pillowcase and place it where the pillowcase is on your mural. Then, add black feathers and black curving lines to complete your mural!

Oh, but be sure to ask you parents if it's cool with them!
