MACRAMÉ FRIENDSHIP BRACELET
Want to make a special bracelet for your best friend that no one else will have? Try your hand at making these cool macramé bracelets you can individualize 'em by choosing different colored cords and cool beads.
YOU WILL NEED:
Cord, scissors, and tape or a nail and board.
HOW TO DO IT:
- Take two pieces of cord one twice as long as the other. (A good rule of thumb is that 60 and 30" strands are just right for kids' wrists)
- Fold each piece in half, grab the middle points and make a loop with them then secure the loop by either taping it down or by hanging it on a nail that you've driven in to a board.
- Arrange the four pieces of cord so that the two shorter pieces are in the middle.
- Take the long left cord and lie it across the center pieces (it should look like an "L")
Bring the right side cord under the middle strands and up through the loop of the "L".
- Pull the left and right strands tight. You will see the first knot. (Congrats!)
- Continue this method, alternating sides until you've run out of cord.
- **If you want to get fancy, you can string beads between knots. Simply string a bead up the two center cords in between each knot you tie.
- If you want to be able to take the bracelet on and off, string a 4-holed button onto the ends. The loop at the top can wrap around it and act as a clasp.
