LOOKING TO CHANGE? TIPS FOR SUCCESS BY GuineaGirl —
By: Rachel, 10, KS (aka GuineaGirl)

Everyone struggles from time to time when they are trying to accomplish something they want to change. Sometimes, you just need some extra motivation. Here, 10-year-old Rachel from Kansas (aka GuineaGirl), gives us her tips on keeping yourself going to make that change!

Determined? Make a chart.

I felt like I really needed to wash my face and brush my teeth more. What did I do? I got a calendar and kept track of how I was doing. It is really motivating. I used symbols to represent that I brushed or washed once. Each symbol would be worth .5 points. At the end of a month, I would average my total and change it to a percent. It is just like school, only your “grade” is a healthier YOU!

How to average: Add up all the points earned and divide it by how many possible points there were.
