MAKE A FAB & COMFY DECORATOR PILLOW
Eleven year-old Jackie from New York submitted the following DIY "Decorator Pillow" how-to.
Here's What You Need:
- Cotton or polyester stuffing (It can be from an old stuffed animal, from an old pillow or bought at a craft store)
- Fabric you like. Whatever pattern appeals to you!
- A hot glue gun or a needle and thread to sew it (It works well both ways, but I suggest the hot glue because it's faster) Be sure to have a parent help you
- A pair of scissors
- Anything to add flair like rhinestones, ribbon, etc.
Here's How to Make It:
- Cut a big square out of your fabric (it depends on how big you want your pillow)
- Fold the square in half.
- If you are HOT GLUING your pillow, hot glue two sides of it together. If you are SEWING your pillow, sew two sides of it together.
- Shove the stuffing into the remaining open end. (Don't put too much, or else it will be over stuffed, but don't put too little, because it will be flat)
- After putting the cotton in, glue or sew that side.
- Now it's time to add your flair! You're better off hot gluing things like jewels or shells while sewing is the way to go for ribbons, buttons or patches.
- NOW YOU HAVE A PILLOW!! CONGRATULATIONS!
