DARN IT ANYWAY
Weave a little color into your spring wardrobe by spicing up your accessories with embroidery!

WHAT YOU'LL NEED:

  • Woven/Straw bag (see if your mom has an old one you can use – if not stores like Target sell them for cheap!)
    supplies
  • Colored raffia or embroidery thread
  • Embroidery needle
  • Pencil
  • Scissors
  • Flower pattern
WHAT TO DO:
  • For your pattern, either draw a simple design or find a picture you like in a magazine or online.
  • Cut out the pattern and trace it onto your purse with a pencil.
  • The rest is a lot like coloring with thread. Stay between the lines, one color at a time.
  • Thread the needle and tie both ends together in a knot.
  • From the inside of the purse, poke the needle through the point at which your first color begins.
  • Pull the thread up and directly across to the point at which the color ends. Poke the needle through and pull it to the inside.
  • Begin again, bringing the needle up through the spot right next to the one you just came through.
  • Pull the thread back across to the other side and poke the needle back down again, next to the other hole. You'll begin to notice the way this "section" of color is filling in.
  • Continue until the entire area is complete, then move on to the next until your picture is finished and, there you have it!
