| "I have always loved drama. Recently I decided
to try out for a play with my Mom at the local theatre.
I knew it was a play for teenagers, but I wanted to give
it a shot anyway. I got up there on the stage, and I was
really nervous. I had only tried out for one other
thing, and I didn't get the part. I had been given the
chance to look over the play before, and I was excited.
I decided to go for it, and I did my best. I was so
excited, because I got a callback. (The audition only
had 3 other teens at it because of a communicative time
error) I came to the callbacks with my mom, and there
were SO many people there. I had a lot of fun, and they
called out names for another callback. I was chosen once
again! This time, it was obvious. I was the youngest
one. I got more and more excited. I knew there wasn't a
good chance that I would get a part, but it was still so
wonderful. I went home very late that night. We weren't
going to find out until the next day. It was SO hard to
wait. They called to tell my Mom she had got a part. I
was excited for her! Then they wanted to talk to me. I
got a part!!!!! They said that I did excellent, and they
were excited to see me in it. It really boosted my
confidence as an actress. I ended up being the youngest
by several years, (but not the shortest :) but I still
made so many great friends. It was a wonderful
experience, especially to be in it with my Mom. I am now
in another show with my whole family, and I am going to
my first practice now! I can't wait to see where I will
go with this." |
