Randy Riley, a partner at the HDGroup, also serves on its Board of Advisors. Randy is a thought leader in the retail marketing industry, he has been a member of numerous industry organizations, has spoken at various industry and client conferences, and has authored articles on the growing importance of retail marketing as a critical element in the marketing mix. Concurrent with his role at the HDGroup, Randy is President and Co-Founder of Trinity, LLC. Trinity, an in-store marketing company, which strategically aligns with the changing and increasingly more sophisticated client business needs in the in-store development industry. Based on the many factors that affect consumers in terms of how they buy and shop, and business operators, as it relates to how they seek great execution at lower life-cycle costs, Randy believes that the opportunity at retail to create great “brand experiences” as well as more efficient merchandising systems that take cost out of the store has never been greater nor more relevant.
Randy began his marketing career at Colgate-Palmolive in 1976 and then moved to E&J Gallo in 1983. At Gallo, he successfully managed a significant portion of that company’s brand portfolio. Randy helped drive Gallo’s move into fine wines by creating sophisticated marketing programs - all designed to deliver a more upscale and relevant “brand experience” and allow Gallo to take advantage of consumer trends in wine and food consumption. From Gallo, Randy took his marketing experience to a more entrepreneurial environment, HMG Worldwide, a leading in-store marketing company. At HMG, he rose to President/COO, leading the dramatic growth of the company, while innovating strategically and creatively for leading retailers and brands.
Randy graduated from Princeton University and has an MBA from Columbia University. Though an avid golfer and sports enthusiast himself, he is passionate about being a spectator of and coach for his three sons’ athletic endeavors. He and his family live in Short Hills, New Jersey.
