The REAL winner

Hi! I’m Laura. I am an artist, and this is my story. One day I was walking down the street, when I noticed a sign in the window of the drug store. I looked closer. It was an art contest! I ran all the way home. When I got home, I called the number to sign up. I had one week to create my best work of art. The next day at school, I heard my enemy, Angeline say that she had signed up too! I was going to have to do my best for this contest.
Chapter Two
This was the day. The day of the contest. I had my work ready. When I got there, everything was normal, but right when I was putting my piece up, the lights went out! Everyone was running around. It was chaos! But then I remembered the candles in the lobby. I slipped out the door, and grabbed one. When I went back in, everyone stopped running around and looked to see where the light was coming from. I used the opportunity to tell everyone where I got it from.
Chapter Three
The lights had come back on, and it was time to announce the winners. I was sad to hear that Angeline had won first place and two other people had won second and third. But then the judge said something that surprised me. 'But we all know who the real winner is' she said, 'Laura Agard!' I was so surprised! I asked her, 'but why?' She said, 'because you saved the contest with your calm and quick thinking. You are the REAL winner |
