Based on the runaway best-selling books by Daniel Handler, the film, featuring Jim Carrey at his maniacal best, tells the story of the three wealthy Baudelaire children – Violet, Klaus and Sunny – who suddenly find themselves orphaned and sent to live with their slightly odd (!) distant relative, Count Olaf (Carrey) until Violet turns 18 and inherits her parents' fortune. The hitch? Turns out Count Olaf is just as greedy as he is odd and has his own plans for the money.
